Prenatal Visit ($180)
  • Establishing breastfeeding goals
  • Preparing to breastfeed
  • Getting off to a good start
  • Advantages of skin to skin
  • Positioning
  • Obtaining a good latch
  • Establishing and maintaining a good milk supply
  • Preventing problems
  • Discussion of individual concerns such as flat/inverted nipples, inadequate glandular tissue, breast surgery
  • Ensuring baby is getting enough
  • Pumping
  • Returning to work

The prenatal visit is a personalized visit in the comfort of your own home.

Postpartum Visit ($225)
  • Health history of mom and baby
  • Assessment of mom’s breasts 
  • Assessment of baby's mouth and suck
  • Observation of a breastfeeding session
  • Assess efficiency of suck swallow
  • Before and after weight check, if desired
  • Troubleshooting
  • Personalized care plan
  • Report to be sent to pediatrician and/or obgyn
  • Follow-up support via phone, email and/or text
All follow-up appointments: $150 per visit
All visits take place in the comfort of your own home. Hopefully, it will be more convenient for you not to have to travel. My fee includes travel to and from your home. Home visits include the areas in the map below.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. Payment options include:
  • Personal checks made out to RVA Lactation Consultant, LLC
  • Credit card payments via PayPal link (at right)
    • Note: a small PayPal service fee may apply
  • Sliding-scale options may be available in cases of financial need. Please call to discuss.
PayPal Acceptance Mark
​I will provide you with a Lactation Superbill for you to submit with your insurance company. I suggest you contact your insurance company before our visit. They may require pre-approval before reimbursement for lactation services. Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies are required by law to provide coverage for lactation services that are provided by a licensed healthcare professional, RN IBCLC.
